What is a Family Care Specialist?
A Family Care Specialist or FCS, is a graduate from an academic program who has been educated and trained to facilitate the support requirements of their clients, from pregnancy through birth and extending into the first year of infancy. This course was developed in response to the industry need for individuals who have a passion for working with perinatal families but are not eligible to take the PNSW program.

How does the FCS program differ from other programs?
The FCS is a vetted college intermediate program has no prerequisites.
The FCS micro credentials may qualify as continued education credits.
The FCS program can be completed in as little as 15 weeks.
The FCS program offers an intermediate level knowledge of the perinatal period.
The FCS is a combination of live online and self directed learning.
The FCS will always maintain CPR, Back Check and Liability Insurance to remain active on the FCS database.

An FCS graduate receives a comprehensive education which will prepare them for working with a variety of families throughout the reproductive cycle and into the 1st year of infancy.
An FCS graduate will learn from multiple educators including a PNSW, Prenatal Educator, an IBCLC and more who teach live classes.
An FCS graduate will be listed on the FCS database.
Can I still work while taking the FCS training?
The in-class theory portion of the program is offered in such manner that you can still work full time while taking the course and is delivered via zoom.
